@Lis

Thanks for sharing your story! It's amazing how often "accidents" like that happen. I hope you have many more of them!

What you're doing is the best way to sell in my opinion. Selling isn't about screwing people over or lying to them. Being honest makes it much easier to sleep at night too.

I don't follow why you won't build a list though. Everything you've said and I know about you screams "I'm good at building relationships and people trust me." Isn't an opt-in list a more effective way to connect with those people and grow those relationships?

Some internet marketers spam their list with useless garbage but that doesn't mean you have to mimic them ;-)

LOL I hear you! I started my blog really as a way to keep myself on track and accountable. I also liked sharing stuff I learned but didn't really fit on hubpages (my main site at the time).

A really, really strange thing has happened though - I actually make money from my blog! It was an accident - people started emailing me and asking for my affiliate link for a product they were going to buy anyway.

In the end I thought why not, I will only share the products I use, point what they will do and not do for people and make sure people can get their money back if they want (or have a minimal investment free trial period).

From the start I was open about earning very little - people seemed to relate to that - it was more believable than the usual "fake it to you make it crowd" - maybe cause it was true LOL

I'll never make a huge amount of money from my blog because I will never pimp stuff for the sake of it and I don't and probably never will have a list for the same purpose - but it certain makes my writing there worthwhile.

And my grammar and spelling is far from perfect - but people like my style so I havent gone for perfection !
