We Got DMOZ Love
We got some good news a few days ago. An editor at DMOZ added Niche Site 1 to their directory! That was a nice surprise because I submitted the site a few months ago and completely forgot about it. I noticed a visitor from DMOZ while checking stats and discovered our new, awesome link.
DMOZ is known for being notoriously hard to get into (those are the links you really want though) and I was pretty sure we would get rejected. The category Niche Site 1 belongs to has almost no entries which is probably the only reason it got added. So, unfortunately, I do not have any secrets to share.
The odd thing is that it does not look like the editor browsed anything but the first page. Maybe that was all they needed?

I have a legitimate content site that hasnt been able to get in for almost 2 years..

Yeah, no kidding! I just about fell out of my chair when I saw it. After reading all of the horror stories (yours included now), I feel pretty fortunate.
