Our first affiliate program is through… LinkShare! Ta-Da! Fortune 500 type companies allow affiliates to market their products using LinkShare. They needed our EIN but opening the account was simple: fill out a few online forms, choose a company and/or product, and get the magic link(s) with your affiliate code.

We went with them to, hopefully, sell products from one particular company on Niche Site 1. They were also one of the few places that didn’t require our web site to exist before registering (that’s it’s a bit of a chicken-and-egg thing for newbies like us). LinkShare and our affiliate sent emails welcoming us to the program but our account shows there’s some verification that’s yet to happen. I’d guess it has something to do with our non-existent web site.
